NODES “Nord Ovest Digitale e Sostenibile” (North West Digital and Sustainable) is the ecosystem of Piedmont, the Aosta Valley and the most northerly provinces of Lombardy (Como, Varese and Pavia) financed in compliance with Measure 4 Component 2 of the PNRR. The project is aimed at the sustainable and inclusive development and growth of the Ecosystem region, through digital and ecological transition. NODES is organised in 7 Spokes coordinated by the participating Universities. UPO is the lead partner of Spoke 5, dedicated to the “Health Industry and Silver Economy” and is affiliated to Spoke 2 (“Industrial Sustainability and Green Technologies”) and Spoke 3 (“Industry of Tourism and culture​”).

Project activity includes cascade funding calls aimed at entities outside the Innovation Ecosystem for the development of industrial research and experimental development projects, and for the supply of acceleration services. The project also sets out to train new professionals through research doctorate courses co-planned with companies, and to create educational programmes on research topics of interest to companies.
