NODES provides a funding measure for Proof of Concept projects aimed at researchers at the University with the goal of increasing the maturity level of innovative solutions consistent with Spoke research areas.

Eligible projects must have as their subject matter solutions/technologies consistent with the themes of NODES, and in particular for UPO, with the Themes of Spoke 2, Spoke 3 and Spoke 5. Projects must ensure a
socio-economic impact on the Ecosystem territory, an impact assessed in terms of increasing Technology Readiness Level (TRL) and Societal Readiness Level (SRL), the creation of prototypes or demonstrators, and the foundation of academic spin-offs that base their activities on the technologies developed during the PoC.

UPO has allocated under NODES 530,000 euros for Academic PoCs; the distribution of resources and the minimum and maximum sizes of project proposals are summarized in the table below:
