Study seminar ‘The bio-cultural dimension of Italian rice growing: a patrimonialisation pathway’.

The initiative is organised in the framework of the project ‘INNOVARISI - Innovative management models and patrimonialisation of rice ecosystems in Italy’.

The University of Eastern Piedmont, the University of Palermo and the Agenzia Laore Sardegna, partners in the project, will critically discuss the first results of the survey on the bio-cultural heritage of rice-growing in Italy. The survey aims at highlighting the ecological importance of the water-land landscape, with its historical, legal, anthropological, economic and biological implications. The seminar aims to be an opportunity to rethink the interconnections between economy, environment and land valorisation policies, also from the perspective of a responsible and sustainable tourism

20 students will be able to take part in the seminar, which will be held at Certosa 1515 in Avigliana (TO) from 2.00 p.m. on Thursday 28 November to 3.00 p.m. on Friday 29 November 2024.

Selected students will be offered board and lodging for the entire duration of the seminar and, subject to the decision of their respective courses of study, university credits may be recognised as part of ‘Other activities’.

All students regularly enrolled in degree courses, master's degree courses and single-cycle master's degree courses at the University of Eastern Piedmont may apply.
