Study Days: "Inland Areas, Communities, Cities: future and heritages of proximity"

The initiative is funded by SNAI's National Strategy for Inland Areas, the SNAI Piedmont Program - Management and Control System of National Funds (Law No. 183/1987), "Claim. Contamination Laboratory Inner Mountain Areas," included in the Area Strategy "The Ecological Community of the Ossola Valleys. New energies for a new path of development."

20 students will be able to participate in the study days in Villadossola (VB) from Tuesday, June 27 to Friday, June 30, 2023.

The study days are an opportunity for a well-rounded reflection on how inland areas can play an active and innovative role in models for the enhancement and promotion of tangible and intangible cultural heritage. The papers will address from a theoretical and methodological point of view issues related to the recognition and shared management of tangible and intangible cultural heritage, as well as propose a study of exemplary models of valorization, involving the various social actors active in the area in a dialogue focused on promotion policies and the training of individuals. The papers, presented by professors from the University of Eastern Piedmont or other universities, will be accompanied by guided educational outings in the area, aimed at getting to know the local cultural heritage.

Selected students will be awarded 2 university credits (recognition is subject to approval by the Graduate Council) and will be offered room and board for the duration of the Study Days.

All students regularly enrolled in undergraduate or master's degree programs at Eastern Piedmont University are eligible to apply.

In 2018 and 2019, UPO organized, in collaboration with the Compagnia di San Paolo Foundation of Turin, the School of Excellence; an intensive training period that allowed our best students to delve into current and socially relevant research topics and to come into contact with leading exponents of international research.
