Multimedia publishing

A vocation for disseminating and sharing knowledge is in the DNA of our researchers.

Over 200 paper and digital publications aimed at a non-specialist audience have been registered since we started monitoring the Third Mission production (2015). Social network accounts are starting to multiply, both personal and for research projects. Our teachers establish profitable and ongoing relationships with the press and information professionals, and often participate in programmes and give interviews.

One textbook case is Professor Alessandro Barbero, our medievalist, and author of numerous television programmes and a very popular podcast.

Professor Alessandra Gennari, an oncologist, is also often a guest on TV due to her work in the prevention of tumours, especially those that affect women.

UpoTalk

UPO Talk is a podcast and video format which (through interviews, dialogues and reflections) allows us to talk about university life and disseminate the scientific knowledge produced in the University.

We publish one piece of content per week, thanks to an agreement signed with Radio 6023, the web radio for UPO students.

You can find UpoTalk at Mediacentre

Extracampus

This is both the paper-based and digital magazine for the dissemination of University research results. It is published every six months and aims at disseminating research results, informing on technological transfer, proposing debate and stimulating cultural growth.

The main target readership is made up of companies, trade associations, institutions, and public and private entities with whom we collaborate, to open up a direct dialogue and create contexts for exchange of skills and knowledge.

UPO-Science Mission

This blog of scientific content is run by Dr. Elettra Barberis and Professor Cristina Pagliano (DISIT, in collaboration with DIMET).

It offers an accessible and interactive platform, in which our experts interact with numerous entities in Italy to transmit complex information in a simple and understandable way for a large-scale audience. The blog presents articles, video infographics and other content that makes it interesting and easy to understand.

It is also an opportunity to promote and disseminate current topics in various scientific fields, linked to the UN 2030 agenda: human health, ecosystem and climate change, biodiversity, precision and regenerative agriculture, ageing, new frontiers of precision medicine, new techniques/technologies for the reuse of agricultural and industrial waste, new technological approaches for the circular bioeconomy and sustainability.

The blog is aimed at everyone: children, teenagers and adults of all ages.
