Mission 4 “Education and Research”, Component 2 “From Research to Business”, Investment 1.1 “Funding for the National Research Programme (PNR) and Research Projects of Relevant Natioal Interest (PRIN)”, of the National Plan of Recovery and Resilience (PNRR), funded by the European Union – Next Generation EU.

The PRIN Calls are intended to finance public research projects, in order to promote the national research system, to strengthen interaction between universities and research bodies in line with the objectives outlined by the PNRR.

In 2022, the MUR published, with Executive Decree 104/2022, the Call of PRIN 2022 and, with Executive Decree 1409/2022 the Call of PRIN 2022 PNRR.

Both Calls fall within the PNRR sphere of Mission 4 "Education and Research" C2 - Investment 1.1, Fund for the National Research Programme and Projects of Relevant National Interest (PRIN).

The funding allocated for the PRIN 2022 Call was 741,814,509.15 euro (of which 218,144,020.80 euro was earmarked for Southern Italy Regions).

The funding allocated for the PRIN 2022 PNRR Call was 420,000,000.00 euro, of which 252,000,000.00 euro was destined to projects in which all the units were operational in Southern Italy Regions.
