https://uniupo.it/en/studentinfo/enrolments/faq-enrolments

The first entry into university represents an important moment of transition. You become part of a reality that is extremely different from that of school and initially it can all seem very complicated.

We have collected here the doubts that often arise during the matriculation period and the answers to them.

How do I enroll?

Enrollment for open-access courses is possible starting from 15 July 2024 and must be done online on the University Student Portal. For courses with limited access, you need to check the deadlines on each department's website. Finally, if you want to enroll in courses with restricted access, you will have to wait for the results of the entrance tests; if you are among the winners in the ranking list, you can proceed with online registration on the Student Portal; you will find specific information on the website scuolamed.uniupo.it.

In any case, to make your registration effective, you will have to pay the first fee of €156.00. At the end of the online registration process you will find the payments section, with the available methods (you can find them explained here: How to pay university fees).

At the end of your registration, you will receive your serial number by email. If you do not receive it, at least 24 hours after your payment, you can retrieve it here: https://sia.uniupo.it/matricola.php.

Once you have the serial number, you can activate all the UPO's online services, including email in the form serialnumber@studenti.uniupo.it To do this, follow the instructions found here: IT and online services

What is the purpose of the enrollment form? Should I give it to someone?

The registration application must simply be printed (or saved in pdf) and kept. You may be asked in the future for checks, for example on the occasion of the skills assessment test.

Be careful, once the first fee has been paid, the document is no longer available on the procedure but you will have to request it from your Student Secretariat.

If I have a job and I want to enroll in the University, are there plans tailored for me?

Of course there are. For working students who have other needs in addition to study, the UPO provides a part-time commitment contract. During the online enrolment procedure, if the teaching regulations of your degree allows it, you will be able to enroll part-time.

Part-time allows you to divide the time, amount of study, exams and fees into 4 or 6 years for three-year degrees and 3 or 4 years for master's degrees. This method is not available for single-cycle master's degree courses.

To find out in detail the splitting of training credits and the amount of fees, visit the section of the University website: https://www.uniupo.it/it/infostudenti/immatricolazioni/tempo-pieno-e-te….

At the beginning of each academic year (up to the third year for three-year courses and up to the second year for master's courses), you can possibly change your registration type both from full-time to part-time and vice-versa.

I'm having trouble accessing my account, how do I do that?

First of all, you must understand what phase of the procedure you are in, in fact the procedure is divided into:
- REGISTRATION: it is the phase in which you enter your personal data. At the end of this phase, you will need to use the username name.surname@esterni.uniupo.it to access your Reserved Area. This username remains valid until the payment of the first installment, or at the end of the next phase.
- REGISTRATION: this is the phase following registration, it ends with the payment of the first fee and the issue of the serial number. From now on, your username will be serialnumber@studenti.uniupo.it. It may take 24/48 hours for your account to be activated and your serial number to be issued.

If your access problems occur during REGISTRATION, or during the REGISTRATION phase but before the payment of the first fee, try following the password recovery procedure for outsiders (https://adss.uniupo.it).
If the problem occurs after the REGISTRATION is complete, try changing the password through the student procedure (https://adss.uniupo.it).
At this point, if the problem has not been resolved, write to postastudenti@uniupo.it.

What photos do I need to enter during the registration process?

Be careful to choose one that is appropriate to the context, it will be used in official documents.

After confirming your entry, you will no longer be able to edit it. The photograph must be recent and portray you in the foreground with your face recognizable and uncovered if possible on a uniform and clear background (no group photos, no landscapes, no mirror photos, no snapchat filters). You must upload files of a maximum of 5 MB.

Where can I find the forms?

On the University's website, in the "Infostudenti - Forms for students" section, you can find all the forms you need.

I paid the first fee but I still don't have the serial number, what do I do?

If even in this way you can not retrieve the serial number, contact your student secretariat through the UPOrisponde service

I am a foreign student, how do I enroll?

The ISEE must not be delivered or transmitted. Once the certificate is requested through the INPS Portal, a CAF, or your accountant, the University automatically acquires the document from September until 31 December without any need for express authorisation. If you do not find the taxes correctly calculated in the period prior to December 31, you do not have to worry, as the entries in the income bracket have not yet been completed.

N.B.: it is necessary that the ISEE certificate has the required characteristics, to know them read the indications found here: https://www.uniupo.it/it/infostudenti/tasse-e-contributi/isee-e-agevolazioni-il-diritto-allo-studio

Am I required to request the ISEE?

No, you don't have to. Those who do not apply for the ISEE will automatically be included in the maximum contribution band. However, in addition to reducing fees, the ISEE certificate also is used to obtain benefits related to international mobility (Erasmus+) and other benefits for the right to study.

I have enrolled in a degree course waiting to know the result of the admission test for a scheduled number course. What do I do if I pass it?

If the test concerns another course of our University (therefore Medicine or Health Professions) you can request the internal passage, whose implementation methods will be issued at the time of approval of the rankings.

If, on the other hand, you have enrolled in a UPO course but have taken the test for another University, then you will have to submit a withdrawal from studies or a request for outgoing transfer.

What is a study plan?

The study plan is the set of exams that you plan to take in your academic career. Some courses have a standard study plan (the same for all students), other courses, on the other hand, do not have a fixed curriculum (the student can choose between different groupings of exams offered on the Student Portal).
To submit it, you must access the Student Portal in the time window (usually between October and November) provided by each Department and enter the Study Plan menu.

The study plan is a document that can be modified during the year, during the relevant periods: you will find appropriate notices on your department's website.

When do the courses start?

The day on which courses start varies depending on the degree course and the year of the course. On the Department's website, in the "All students/Calendar of activities" menu you will find indicatively the start and end dates of the semester, the exam periods and the graduation sessions.

For the specific timetables of the courses to follow, go to the website https://upoplanner.uniupo.it/, log in with your institutional email credentials, and search for your degree program. On the same website you can also book your place in the classroom.

Where can I find the books to study for the exams?

You will not have a list of texts to study for the exams. In general, it is advisable to wait for the beginning of the course, during which the teacher will present the texts on which the exams will focus.

You can also search for the list of teachings in the tab of your degree course on the University website (Courses section) where the reference texts are shown.

How do I book for exams?

To take the exams it is mandatory to book online on the Student Portal.

Here, you will be required to fill out an anonymous questionnaire related to the teaching and then make the exam reservation in the Exams menu.

I work and I cannot attend all the courses, can I still take the exams?

If the course does not require attendance, you can safely take the exam. In some cases it is also possible that the teacher has planned a different exam program for non-attending students. If the degree course requires attendance, on the other hand, you can only take the exam by attending a minimum number of hours of lessons that you will find in the Teaching Regulations of your course.
