Status

Free Mover status can be granted to all incoming international students, provided they are regularly enrolled at a university, either in Europe or elsewhere in the world.

Curricular activities are based on the same rules applied by the Erasmus+ Programme. Currently, incoming students do not pay any university fees and cannot be offered funding.

UPO provides insurance and the same services enjoyed by Erasmus students. Incoming Free Movers are also supported by UPO in applying for a tax code and residence permit (non-EU students only).

In order to be accepted by our University, please write to erasmus@uniupo.it stating your intention to become a Free Mover, your name, surname, field of interest, level of study and do not forget to mention the name of your home University . We will contact the Department Coordinator and inform you of the procedure by e-mail.

Remember that some courses take place in more than one city. You can decide where to go, but you cannot change location during the mobility period. Send an email to erasmus@uniupo.it to let us know your preference.

At the end of the procedure, print out the application, sign it and send it to erasmus@uniupo.it with all the attachments.

Do not fill in the ‘Accommodation’ field; if you need help with accommodation, please contact servizi.studenti@uniupo.it.

Other services (e.g. information on your Italian tax code, e-mail box and canteen card for your meals) will be provided by the Department when you arrive in Italy.
