Academic certifications are interdisciplinary subject tracks dedicated to topical issues with which you can supplement your degree program.

For reasons of study, personal curiosity or to increase your career possibilities, you can add an extra skill to the 'education' chapter of your CV.

Academic certifications can be enrolled by anyone, student or non-student, interested in the course topics.

Verification of Profit 

Verification of profit and acquisition of objectives will be assessed by a grade in thirtieths for each educational activity that makes up the course. 

A certificate of successful completion of the course and acquisition of related credits will be issued upon request.

Enrollment 

Applications for enrollment must be submitted between May 2, 2024 and January 31, 2025. Contribution is regulated similarly to single course enrollment. There are no refunds if the exams to which the CFUs refer are not passed. It is possible to take exams until the extraordinary session of the relevant academic year. 

Payment procedure

If you do not hold University login credentials, to create an account UNIUPO:

  • access: https://www.studenti.uniupo.it/Home.do
  • follow the Reserved Area pathway to Registration, and click on “Web Registration”
  • key in your personal data as requested up to creation of your username which must also be linked to a password
  • enter the Reserved Area, click on “Proceed with login”.

Those who already have a username:

Proceed to registration and payment:

  • Click on “Student Admin”, follow pages: Enrolment, Standard Enrolment, Enrolment on open-access courses, Department of Science and Technological Innovation or Department of Health Sciences, First Level Ordinary Course; then select the Academic Certificate you are interested in
  • Enter the information requested, up to and including the generation and printing of the application for enrolment and bill for 90 Euro
  • if you are not among the categories eligible for the exemption or reduced fee, pay the slip and contact the Student Secretariat of the relevant department.
    Specifically, for Fundamentals of Computer Science and Mathematics: through UPO Responds (https://www.uniupo.it/it/upo-risponde) select “Dept. of Science and Technological Innovation - Alexandria,” the subject or recipient “Student Secretary's Office,” the context “Single Courses,” and indicating in the request text the “Academic Certificate” and the desired course topic, then Academic Certification in Computer Science and Mathematics.
    For Academic Certification in Fundamentals of Biology and Medicine: through UPO Responds (https://www.uniupo.it/it/upo-risponde), select the Department of Health Sciences (DiSS), the topic or the recipient “School of Medicine Student Secretary.”
  • If you figure among one of the categories entitled to fee exemption or reduction, contact the student Admin Office of the Department (details above) and they will update your enrolment details
  • IN ALL CASES (including exemption or reduced fee), the Admin Office will issue another bill for 16 euro (for the revenue stamp) which must be paid, and, if necessary, another bill if both courses are requested
  • Return to the initial webpage, select “Student Admin”, “Payments”, and when at the “Invoice” section, the bills to be paid will appear
  • The Student Admin Office will update your online records with the Academic Certificate courses

No reimbursement will be paid in the event that exams for credits are not passed.

The reduced fee is applied to: University staff; disabled persons with a disability of 66 percent or more; handicapped persons (art. 3 c. 1 L. 104/1992); asylum seekers; political and political refugees; incoming free mover students. 

 

Merit exemption 

Those who have obtained a bachelor's degree, master's degree, and single-cycle master's degree “in progress” (with respect to the normal/conventional duration of the course of study) with a grade of 100/110 or higher are not required to pay the application fee. 

Those who intend to graduate by the summer session of a.y. 2023/2024 with a grade of 100/110 or higher are temporarily exempt from paying the application fee, signing a commitment to pay the application fee promptly if this condition is not met.
